Engineers invent things that amaze us in the moment. But many of us take for granted that much in this engineered world is everyday amazing, like roadways and bridges that get us to work, to home, to the doctor’s office, to shopping and to the things that entertain us.
Engineers Week is a time to recognize both the individuals who create solutions for the problems of today and tomorrow.
At MCDOT, our engineers are hard at work to help connect you to the people and places you love.
To do this MCDOT’s engineers:
- Design and build roadways, sidewalks, bridges and other structures to provide vital connections for Maricopa County residents.
- Monitor more than 2,000 miles of roadway to make sure traffic signs, pavement markings and guardrail are in top-condition to keep you safe while on the road.
- Create innovative solutions using technology to maintain and operate traffic signals that keep traffic flowing and get you to work on-time.
- Plan for the future roadway by research and implementing connected vehicle technology that allows vehicles to interact with the infrastructure in real-time.
During Engineers Week or any time of year, we celebrate our engineers and how they improve our lives.
