Keep Maricopa County Beautiful:  Adopt a Highway

MCDOT recognizes October as Keep Maricopa County Beautiful month as an opportunity to promote environmental awareness and stewardship. Through its Adopt a Highway program, MCDOT is encouraging county residents to take pride in their community by helping to keep roadways clean and safe. The Adopt a Highway program also helps reduce County maintenance costs, creates safer roads for commuters and helps keep Maricopa County beautiful.

More than 130 community groups participate in the Adopt a Highway program.  Last year these groups removed 14,000 pounds of debris along hundreds of miles of Maricopa County roads.

As part of Keep Maricopa County Beautiful Month, these groups are encouraged to schedule roadway cleanup events throughout the month.

For more information on how you can organize a roadside clean-up or start your own Adopt a Highway group, call 602-506-4068 or visit the program website at mcdot.maricopa.gov/adopt.
