[ARCHIVED] Board of Supervisors Seek Applicants for Downtown Constable

June 7, 2017 – PHOENIX – The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors seeks applicants for appointment to the position of Downtown Constable. Jimmie Munoz, who served as the elected constable for over xx years, resigned effective May 31, 2017.


Constables execute, serve and return processes, warrants and notices and attend justice courts when required. The vacancy will be filled by the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors. By law, the appointee must be a registered Democrat, like Munoz, live in the Downtown Justice Precinct, and be a registered Arizona voter. The appointee will serve out Munoz’ unexpired term through 2018, and could seek a new term in the 2018 primary and general elections.


Applicants should send their letters of interest along with a resume to the Office of the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors, 301 W. Jefferson, 10th Floor, Phoenix, AZ 85003 or ClerkBoard@mail.maricopa.gov. Applications will be accepted through Friday, June 30, 2017.


The district encompasses West Mesa, including the Fairway, Riverview, Westwood, Esquire, Buckley, Kleinmen, Indian Springs and Honda voting precincts.
