Project Update
New travel restrictions on Lower Buckeye Road
On Tuesday, June 7, 2022, traffic on Lower Buckeye Road will be shifted north onto the new pavement, and MC DOT will begin construction on the south side of the roadway.

Project Overview
The Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT), in cooperation with the City Phoenix, is widening Lower Buckeye Road between 71st Avenue and 67th Avenue. The project (# TT0495) will create seamless travel for drivers on Lower Buckeye Road by making improvements that match the existing roadway at either end of the project site.

Project Features
- Two travel lanes in each direction, as well as a center turn lane
- New curb, gutter and storm drains
- Sidewalks with ADA ramps
- Bike Lanes and bus pads
- City of Phoenix street lighting
- Traffic signal improvements at 67th Avenue, including a southbound right turn lane
Project Timeline
Construction start: January 24, 2022
Construction completion: September 2022
